We now have a conceptual drawing of what we anticipate our new play-ground will be. It is posted on the window to the staff room, by our back door to the preschool aged play-ground. Peter Ashmore has worked many hours to steer this through and we are grateful to him. Peter is still involved (like we can keep him away) and we welcome his support. The original plan was to have a local landscaper (we were working with) to follow through, but that company is no longer in business. Peter and I are currently working on other options and we believe we may just have someone who can help.
Our first priority is to deal with the drainage issue. Over the last 23 years the play yard has settled and the drainage all leads to the pea-gravel, rock pit (which has way too much sand in it). Our second priority is to replace the present climber and re-engineer the pit. Both projects may occur at the same time – depending on resources and timing. In the Hummingbird yard, the highest priority is to work on the drainage issue as well and replace the present access to the climber. The “bug ramp” has got-a-go. We need to find a better way for the toddlers to use this climber.
