Capacity: 17 children
The Orca Room program accommodates up to 17 children ages 30 months to five years and is facilitated by three early childhood educators along with one support worker. Children typically “graduate” from the Orca Room when they enter Kindergarten.
7:30 – 9:30 am
Good Morning Everyone.
Children play indoors with table top toys that have been set out or choose to play in the gross motor room using building blocks, balls, cars, blocks or musical instruments..
9 – 10 am
Children have the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills riding bikes, running, jumping and climbing. Imaginative play is encouraged in the sandbox and natural play spaces and mud kitchen.

10 – 11:00am
Indoor Free play and Art/Cooking Activities
The children have access to a variety of choices such as dress, block building, painting, water play, book reading, small table toys cars, trains etc..
11 – 11:30 am
Songs stories dance and games. Lots of opportunity to learn colours, numbers, shapes, and alphabet letters in fun and interactive way.
11:30 – noon
Children join each other enjoying lunch brought from home
Noon – 12:30 pm
Books and Puzzles
This is a quieter play time to wind down before a rest.
12:30 – 1:15/2 pm
Children that nap have a mat and blanket in the back room where they are able to sleep until 2 pm. Non-sleepers play quietly in the main room on a mat and enjoy a little quiet time
1:15 – 2:30 pm
Afternoon Free Play / Art
Children enjoy dress up area/kitchen area or table toys that have been set up for the afternoon. An opened art activity is also available.
2:30 – 3 pm
Leftover lunch is provided as well as vegetables and fruits
3 – 5 pm
5 – 5:25 pm
